Got debt? Tell us about it!

Are you one of the 25% of American adults under 65 with medical debt?

Health Access has been collecting personal health care stories for years, and using them to illustrate the need for various health reforms.  Personal stories played a significant part in helping win the passage of the Hospital Fair Pricing Act in 2006, and the federal Affordable Care Act of 2010.

Here are a few examples of the kinds of stories we need now, to help win the next round of reforms:

  • Insured consumers with high out-of-pocket costs or deductibles.
  • Small business owners.
  • Consumers who have pre-existing conditions or a child with pre-existing conditions.
  • Consumers who ran up against lifetime or annual health benefit caps and no longer do, thanks the Affordable Care Act.

If any of the above describe you, or if you have medical debt for any other reason, your story can help us educate policymakers and voters to win further reforms in hospital and insurance pricing and practice.

After we talk with you, you may have the opportunity to interview with a reporter, speak to or in front of elected officials, or share your story at an event.  You can always say no to an opportunity, but the first step is to come forward.

Please share your story today and let your voice be heard!

Do you have medical debt because your insurance had a high deductible?
Do you have medical debt because your insurance excluded certain medical services?
Do you have medical debt because your insurance had annual or lifetime caps on coverage?
Do you have medical debt because you were balance billed for out of network care?
I'd like to share my story over the phone, please have someone call me.
